20 years - 7,000 students

Since opening in Oxford two decades ago, Oxford School of English has provided English language courses and activity programmes to over 7,000 young students in our Junior Summer School and in our non-summer groups.

We host student groups of any age, at any time throughout the year. Our Oxford Junior Summer School is open for six weeks in July and August. Our summer school usually hosts 600 students, from all over the world.

Core programme

Young Leaders Plus

This course guides students through a range of leadership challenges, teaching them to apply rational and critical thinking to the kind of testing situations they may face in the future and to develop new management skills.

English Plus

Our 15 hours per week English Plus course is open to all students, with classes at every level, from Beginner (A0) to Proficiency (C2).

A full-day excursion every Saturday
Half-day excursion every Wednesday
Optional excursion on Sunday

All students join a full-day excursion each Saturday, and a half-day excursion(except those taking Tennis coaching) each Wednesday.

There is also an Optional Excursion every Sunday dependent upon the number of students interested.

Excursion destinations include London, Brighton, Bath, Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and Cotswold Wildlife Park.

Evening activities

Every evening for students in residential accommodation
Two evenings per week for students in homestay

Evening activities include sports, karaoke, discos, quizzes, films, social events and a farewell party at the end of the course.
